Every expectant parent has the best intentions when preparing a nursery for their baby. But how do you know which plastics are safe, what types of fabrics and paints are the healthiest choice for the nursery, or what shampoos and lotions are best for your child? The Peaceful Nursery iPhone app can help!

The Peaceful Nursery features a quick and easy shopping checklist of what to buy for the nursery, along with tips about what to avoid, and an explanation of what chemicals are often found in each product. The app does not focus specifically on brands; rather, it is designed to teach new parents what types of products to buy that are safest and healthiest for their child. A paint guide, tips on everything from helping baby sleep to uses of color, and a section on how to arrange your nursery are also available, along with video clips.

The Peaceful Nursery has versions compatible with iPhone 3 and iPhone 4, as well as iPod Touch. The app for iPhone is available now from Apple’s App Store on iPhone and iPod touch.

Praise for the Peaceful Nursery App:

“This is technology at its best, isn’t it?” – The Fashionable Bambino“Packed with great tips including how to set up the nursery to help baby sleep (what parent doesn’t want to take advantage of this?) and how to keep your home healthy (cleaning products, electronics, ventilation) for baby, it’s chock full of useful information. But most of all, we love the convenience of the handy checklists that help parents keep track of all the nursery items they need to purchase. If there’s one thing parents-to-be need, it’s a way to make things easier in the months before baby comes. And, this app makes creating a beautiful and healthy nursery a breeze.” – Stephanie Phoenix, People.com

“It took hours of research and planning to find paint, furniture and fabrics that were healthy for my home. Of course, this was back before new parents had access to cool apps that could make the whole planning process a breeze. One such app, The Peaceful Nursery, came across my desk (virtually, of course) recently. It’s got all of the features I would have loved when I was pregnant with my girls.” – Mother Nature Network
